Fue fundada por Thomas Burberry en 1856.

En 1895 creó el Tielocken el antecesor del famoso trench y fue utilizado por el Ejército Británico en la Guerra de los Boers.

El explorador noruego Roald Amundsen fue el primer hombre en llegar al Polo Sur (1911) y fue equipado con ropa Burberry.

1914: Burberry crea el trench coat.

1924: El famoso escocés Burberry llamado en inglés como haymarket check o "Burberry classic check" es utilizado por primera vez y fue en un trenchcoat.

Este estampado es uno de los más imitados en el planeta.

Ligado al estilo inglés, en la década del setenta la marca se hizo muy popular por los fanáticos del fútbol y se asoció con los hooligans y con violencia. Es común escuchar hasta el día de hoy en el Reino Unido expresiones como "burberry crime" y "burberry estates"

En la década del 2000, el diseñador británico Christopher Bailey es diseñador y director creativo de la icónica marca.

Some facts.

Burberry was created in 1856 by 21- year old English man, Thomas Burberry.

In 1895, Burberry designs the Tielocken, antecessor of the famous trench. This coat was worn by the British Army at the Boers War.

Norwegian explorer Roald Amudsen was the first man to led an expedition to reach the South Pole in 1911. All the expeditions clothes and outfits were from Burberry.

In 1914 Burberry created the trench coat

1924: The famous Burberry Classic Check Pattern was created. And it was used in their trench coats.
This pattern is one of the most copied and imitated in the fashion world.

Related to English Style, in the seventies this brand became really popular among football fans. Inmediately was associated to hooligans and football violence. It´s usual listening even in 2009 expressions such as "burberry crime" and "burberry estates".

In the 2000´s british designer Christopher Bailey is the Creative Director of Burberry.
